Philadelphia Housing Authority property auction series
While working with PhiladelphiaNeighborhoods.com for my journalism capstone at Temple University, I did a multimedia series on PHA’s sale of 500 vacant properties scattered throughout the city. To date, this is the work that I am most proud of.

Next American City

While at Next American City I wrote a weekly blog, fact checked, copy edited and produced City Strivers, a feature story published in the magazine’s print edition.
The best part of this job and this story was talking to such successful, driven, inspiring people – both young and old – from all over the country. I have since freelanced other stories for both the websites blog and the magazine’s print edition.
Philadelphia Business Journal

- There’s nothing I love more than being able to ask straightforward, hard-hitting questions. At PBJ I was allowed to do just that and more (including special report stories and a weekly non-profit news column).

Philadelphia Daily News
For my story “Chef d’cancer patients: Jack Shoop lovingly crafts a medical center’s meals,” I was awarded the Award for Excellence in Journalism: Profile Writing by the Temple University Journalism Department. I wrote this story during my features reporting internship with the Philadelphia Daily News where I wrote articles on everything ranging from Greek yogurt to African American children’s book fairs and successful Philadelphia natives.
Travel Writing
At the root of all this journalism business is my love for travel, my love for exploration and discovery. Most of the time this means traveling around Philadelphia and exploring all of the worlds within the dynamic urban world, but sometimes I’m fortunate enough to travel further. My trips to London, Prague, Paris, Amsterdam, Edinburgh and Toronto have infected me with some serious wanderlust. If everything goes my way, you’ll be seeing a lot more travel writing on this site, for now here is my current travel writing collection…
